In Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos using the snap of all six Infinity Stones. However, it is revealed that several other characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could have survived doing the snap as well.
Surviving Iron Man’s Endgame Snap
One of these characters is Smart Hulk, who successfully brings back those who perished in Avengers: Infinity War and survives the impact of the snap. Thor, known for his immense strength, could have also done the reverse snap if he was in a better mental state during Endgame. Scarlet Witch, whose powers are continuously growing stronger, and the Mighty Thor (Jane Foster), who wields Mjolnir and possesses the same set of powers as Thor, could have both survived the snap.
Captain Marvel, with her superhuman abilities and ability to absorb and contain energy, would likely be able to withstand the impact of the snap. Captain America, known for his superhuman strength and durability, would also have the potential to survive. She-Hulk, who is even stronger than Hulk and maintains her human consciousness when transformed, could have likely survived the snap.
G’iah, introduced in Secret Invasion, has received The Harvest DNA, giving her a range of powers from various Avengers and making her possibly the most powerful character in the MCU. Gilgamesh, an Eternal as strong as Thor, and Adam Warlock, who is expected to grow stronger as he becomes older, would also have the strength to survive the snap.
Hercules, teased in Thor: Love and Thunder’s post-credits scene, is expected to exhibit unparalleled strength and could likely survive the snap. Finally, Wolverine, if introduced in the MCU, with his superhuman strength and healing ability, would be able to endure the impact of the snap.
Overall, it is clear that Iron Man’s sacrifice may not have been the only way to defeat Thanos and save the universe. As the MCU expands into the Multiverse Saga, these characters and their potential to survive the snap may play a significant role in the future.
