The introduction of the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has sparked a fan theory that suggests he may have been building his own Celestial. The Orgoscope, a strange space station, is believed to be the High Evolutionary’s attempt at creating a god-like species similar to the Celestials. This theory is supported by the similarities between the Orgoscope and the Celestials, such as the “eye” at the center of the Orgoscope resembling the eyes of the Celestials. Additionally, the presence of pools of yellow gelatinous liquid in the Orgoscope, similar to those found in Knowhere, suggests that the High Evolutionary may be using Celestial matter to grow his own Celestial.
Explored in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Theory
The High Evolutionary’s experiments on Rocket and other creatures were seen as practice for something bigger, potentially the creation of a Celestial with almost omnipotent power. While Rocket and his friends were enhanced into intelligent lifeforms, they were merely stepping stones on the High Evolutionary’s path to creating more refined beings. The later experiments conducted by the High Evolutionary were much more sophisticated, evolving simple creatures into intelligent life in a matter of moments and enhancing fish into superior humanoid beings.
If the High Evolutionary was successful in creating his own Celestial, it could have major consequences for the future of the MCU. He would gain almost omnipotent power and could potentially bring forth one of the most highly-anticipated cosmic supervillains, Galactus, into the MCU. Galactus shares similarities with the Celestials in terms of size, cosmic nature, and god-like power, making him a fitting character to be borne from the High Evolutionary’s creation.
The theory suggests that the High Evolutionary’s mission to create the perfect society might have been a smaller objective compared to his plans to create a Celestial. With the High Evolutionary surviving the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there is a possibility that he could return in the future to complete his nefarious mission and finalize the creation of his very own Celestial.
