That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, also known as TenSura, is a popular Isekai anime that follows the story of an office worker who is reincarnated as a slime in an alternate universe. The anime, based on a light novel and manga, has gained a large following and is now getting ready to release its third season as well as its first theatrical film, Scarlet Bond, in North America.
The anime, produced by Eight Bit studio, follows the adventures of Rimuru Tempest, who gains the ability to devour anything and eventually becomes a Demon Lord, creating a peaceful kingdom known as Tempest. The first two seasons of the series see Rimuru’s powers grow and evolve in this new world.
Scarlet Bond, the movie, takes place after the events of season 2 and introduces a new protagonist named Hiiro. Hiiro is a survivor of the Ogre race who seeks revenge against the Orcs who wiped out his people in a genocide. This sets him against Rimuru and his loyal crew, creating a complex and emotional conflict that adds depth to the overall story.
Hiiro, believing himself to be the last of the Ogres, has made Raja his new home and Towa his queen. However, when a curse threatens to take everything away from him, he seeks help and crosses paths with Rimuru and the Orcs responsible for his past tragedies. This backstory sets up Hiiro as a fascinating character to explore in Scarlet Bond and allows for a deeper exploration of Rimuru’s character as well.

Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious is a lighthearted and enjoyable series, while Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play is an older classic that brings a sense of nostalgia.
