The latest update, version 0.4, for the PC shooter Starship Troopers: Extermination has been released. The update includes a brand-new game mode called Horde Mode, player stat tracking, and other tweaks.

Horde Mode is a survival-based combat mode where players face increasing waves of enemies. Players must defend the Mobile Headquarters (MHQ) against the swarms of bugs. The mode has two phases, Build Phase and Defend Phase. In the Build Phase, players have a limited amount of time to build and repair base defenses using ore. The MHQ can only be repaired with special repair canisters obtained from completing secondary objectives. In the Defend Phase, players must fight off bugs without the ability to use build tools or respawn. If all players are killed or the MHQ is destroyed, the match is lost. However, if the MHQ remains intact after 10 waves, victory is achieved.

Player stat tracking and profiles have also been added in update 0.4. Players can now view their in-game stats, including total kills, revives, deaths, wins, losses, and extractions. Stats are categorized by mission, kills, and weapons, and can be filtered by game mode and classes. The developers plan to add more stats in the future.

Offworld Industries, the developer of Starship Troopers: Extermination, is actively seeking player feedback to determine what features and mechanics need to be adjusted for future updates. The game is currently in early access and is priced at $29.99. The price is expected to increase as more content is added.

Overall, the version 0.4 update for Starship Troopers: Extermination brings significant additions to the game, including Horde Mode and player stat tracking. The developers are actively engaging with players to improve the game and plan to add more content in the future.
