A-1 Pictures, the acclaimed animation studio behind popular series such as Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online, has released a new promotional video for its upcoming workplace comedy series, My New Boss Is Goofy. The preview, which focuses on the titular boss Yusei Shirosaki, was released on the official website of the series on August 5. The website will release one new promo video each week leading up to the series’ debut in October.

My New Boss Is Goofy is based on Dan Ichikawa’s manga of the same name, which began serialization on Akita Shonen’s online comic platform, “Manga Cross,” in February 2019. The story revolves around a 26-year-old office worker named Kentaro Momose, who decides to switch jobs after being harassed by his previous boss. Despite his fears that his new boss will treat him similarly, Kentaro finds relief when he realizes that his new employer, Yusei Shirosaki, is clueless yet kind. The manga follows the everyday office misadventures with a ditzy boss in charge.

Masahiro Yokotani, known for creating series compositions for The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, is writing the script, while Takahiro Yasuda is serving as both Chief Animation Director and Character Designer. Masato Nakayama, who worked on the music for You and Me, is composing the series’ music.

The cast of My New Boss Is Goofy includes Yuichiro Umehara as Yusei Shirosaki, Kotaro Nishiyama as Kentaro Momose, Tomokazu Sugita as Mitsuo Aoyama, Jun Fukuyama as Aigo Kinjo, and Hiro Shimono as Hakuto. The series is set to premiere in October.
