Prop Pic Reveals Netflix’s One Piece Devil Fruit

Netflix has released a photo on Twitter giving fans a first glimpse of one of the Devil Fruits in their upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series One Piece. The photo shows Monkey D. Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit sitting in a box with the Marines’ symbol etched into the lock. The Gomu Gomu no Mi allows Luffy to stretch his limbs and body like rubber, and recent chapters of the manga have revealed that there are hidden secrets regarding this fruit.

Live-Action One Piece

The live-action adaptation of One Piece is set to premiere on Netflix at the end of August. The main cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. A full trailer for the series was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, featuring the live-action version of Gol D. Roger, the first King of the Pirates.

One Piece fans have more to look forward to besides the Netflix series. Crunchyroll has announced that One Piece Film: Red, along with two other movies from the franchise, will soon be available to stream on their platform with both English subtitles and dubbed versions. One Piece Film: Red follows Luffy’s reunion with his childhood friend Uta, who is the estranged daughter of Red-Haired Shanks.

In addition, several new One Piece collectibles are available for preorder. This includes a two-in-one figurine that portrays a more relaxed moment during Luffy’s training under Silvers Rayleigh, priced at $433. There is also a limited edition statue of Sir Crocodile, the Desert King, which is priced at $974 and is a direct reference to his Suna Suna no Mi Devil Fruit.

Netflix has invested a substantial amount of money into the live-action adaptation of One Piece, with each episode having a budget of $18 million. According to Jacob Romero Gibson, one of the actors in the series, the investment has paid off. He praised the show’s talented special effects team, particularly mentioning the impressive depiction of the sea beast in action sequences.

Overall, fans of One Piece have much to anticipate with the upcoming release of the Netflix adaptation, the availability of new movies for streaming, and the introduction of new collectibles related to the series.
