Netflix has released a photo on Twitter giving fans a first glimpse of one of the Devil Fruits in their upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series One Piece. The photo shows Monkey D. Luffy’s Gomu Gomu no Mi Devil Fruit sitting in a box with the Marines’ symbol etched into the lock. The Gomu Gomu no Mi allows Luffy to stretch his limbs and body like rubber, and recent chapters of the manga have revealed that there are hidden secrets regarding this fruit.

One Piece Film: Red follows Luffy’s reunion with his childhood friend Uta, who is the estranged daughter of Red-Haired Shanks.
In addition, several new One Piece collectibles are available for preorder. This includes a two-in-one figurine that portrays a more relaxed moment during Luffy’s training under Silvers Rayleigh, priced at $433. There is also a limited edition statue of Sir Crocodile, the Desert King, which is priced at $974 and is a direct reference to his Suna Suna no Mi Devil Fruit.
Netflix has invested a substantial amount of money into the live-action adaptation of One Piece, with each episode having a budget of $18 million. According to Jacob Romero Gibson, one of the actors in the series, the investment has paid off. He praised the show’s talented special effects team, particularly mentioning the impressive depiction of the sea beast in action sequences.
Overall, fans of One Piece have much to anticipate with the upcoming release of the Netflix adaptation, the availability of new movies for streaming, and the introduction of new collectibles related to the series.
