In Project Runway All Stars, Season 20, Episode 9, the designers are given a Client Challenge where they must create outfits for Bravolebrities from Below Deck. Captain Lee Rosbach randomly assigns each designer a client, and they are given 40 minutes to brainstorm and discuss their designs.
On the second day of the challenge, Christian Siriano visits the workroom to give feedback to the designers. He advises Rami that his dress might be limiting and suggests turning it into separates. Bishme’s design is deemed too revealing, but he backs down when Aesha, his client, confirms it’s what she wants. Prajjé is taking a big risk, while Anna’s design confuses Christian until she explains it further. He warns her that it needs to be finished perfectly.
The designers have a fitting with their clients, and Christian points out potential issues with some of the designs. Korto’s outfit is deemed too short, and Brittany’s fit around the neck is off. Captain Sandy from Below Deck is seen videographing the experience, showing her excitement.
After the fitting, the Below Deck crew invites the designers to a bar, where tequila shots are consumed. Anna seems to go overboard, flirting with Gary from Below Deck. However, the next day Anna is fine and ready for the runway show.
During the runway show, Bishme’s outfit is a success, meeting all the criteria. Laurence’s design falls flat, and Korto’s may be too casual but is elevated by neon yellow trim. Rami’s outfit is a redemption, with great attention to detail. Brittany’s design is comfortable and practical. Anna’s design is well-received and meets her client’s wishes. However, Prajjé’s outfit is deemed too costume-like and does not come together well.
In the end, Bishme, Brittany, and Rami are named the top three All Stars, with Bishme winning the challenge. Laurence and Korto are also declared safe. Anna, Prajjé, and Kara Saun make up the bottom three, and after deliberation, Anna is sent home. Some considered it unfair as she listened to her client’s feedback and even pushed back on her behalf during the judging.
In the next episode, the designers will have the freedom to make whatever they want, and tensions rise as someone believes their look was stolen. Project Runway All Stars airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
