Sailor Moon fans can now preorder a replica of the Eternal Tiare Prop, the magical staff that allows the titular character to transform into her Eternal form. Manufactured by Tamashii Nations and available on Sideshow, the life-sized recreation is priced at $210 and is expected to begin shipping in March 2024. In addition to the prop, Tamashii Nations has also released a collectible figurine depicting Usagi wielding the Eternal Tiare.
The prop and figurine coincide with the release of Sailor Moon Cosmos, a movie duology that serves as the conclusion of the Sailor Moon Crystal Reboot. The films adapt the “Shadow Galactica” story arc from Naoko Takeuchi’s manga series and feature Usagi and her friends coming together to save the universe from the villainous Sailor Galaxia and her empire. Sailor Moon Cosmos introduces new characters such as the Sailor Starlights—three intergalactic female warriors who disguise themselves as a popular boy band.
Takeuchi’s Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga series was serialized from 1991 to 1997 and follows the story of Usagi Tsukino, a middle school student who becomes a magical girl because of her connection to the Legendary Silver Crystal. Despite finishing over two decades ago, Sailor Moon remains a cornerstone of the anime landscape and has been adapted into stage plays, video games, novels, and even an ice skating show.
Sailor Moon fans have also showcased their love and appreciation for the series through cosplay, with recent examples including an elegant Sailor Neptune costume featuring her magic mirror and a colorful reimagination of Sailor Moon’s transformation sequence.
