Episode 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is set to be released on July 20 by Studio MAPPA. Weekly episodes will be available every Thursday on Crunchyroll. The episode, titled “Hidden Inventory 2,” continues from the Season 2 premiere and focuses on the aftermath of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto’s arrival to protect Riko, who was targeted by the organization Q. Gojo and Geto easily defeat their enemies and meet Riko, who berates them for being liars. Riko’s caretaker, Kuroi, explains the situation, but Riko insists on going to school despite the danger she faces.
Toji Fushiguro, the “Sorcerer Killer,” also plays a significant role in the episode by manipulating events while gambling. He puts a bounty on Riko, expecting the assassins to fail but hoping to wear down Gojo and Geto in the process. Gojo and Geto arrive at the school to protect Riko, where they engage in battles against an older Curse User and a clone user. They both emerge victorious, but Gojo fails to use his Reverse Curse Technique, resorting to a punch instead. The episode ends with Riko revealing that Kuroi has been beaten and bound.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has received positive attention from fans, with the first episode featuring hidden Easter eggs and nods to other anime. The sequel has been praised for its use of puzzles and strategic thinking, as seen in the first episode where Mei Mei and Utahime solve problems through thinking rather than fighting.
The manga, written by Gege Akutami, released Chapter 228, “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 3,” on July 9, 2023. This chapter heavily features the character Yuta, the protagonist of the prequel movie, who is expected to appear in the anime later in Season 2. The next manga installment is set to be released on July 16, 2023.
“Hidden Inventory 3,” the third episode of Season 2, will be available on Crunchyroll on July 20. Both Season 1 of Jujutsu Kaisen and the tie-in movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are also available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The manga can be read through Viz Media.
