Original ‘Power Rangers’ Cast Return for 30th Year Reunion Finale

Following a sneak peek earlier this month, Hasbro has announced the entire cast list for next year’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Reunion Special!

Hasbro has finally revealed the cast of their forthcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Reunion Special, and it looks morphenomenal!

Which Power Rangers Will Be Returning?

After previously reporting that the Special would reunite original cast members David Yost (Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger) and Walter Jones (Zack Taylor/Black Ranger) after two decades, it has now been revealed that they will be joined by season two and season three cast members Steve Cardenas (Rocky DeSantos/Red Ranger 2), Karan Ashley (Aisha Campbell/Yellow Ranger 2), Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam Park/Black Ranger 2)

The Special will also include newcomer Charlie Kersh as Trini’s daughter Min, which appears to validate suspicions that the reunion would honor the late Thuy Trang (Trini Kwan/Yellow Ranger), who departed the program in 1995 before sadly dying in a vehicle accident in 2001. While narrative specifics are unknown, sources indicate that the episode will focus on Trini’s daughter, who will probably rejoin her mother’s former squad and carry on their tradition.

Alpha 5 appears to be returning as well.

While more of Trang’s previous season one co-stars would have been good, it is unlikely that Austin St. John (Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger), Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly Hart/Pink Ranger), and Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver/Green Ranger) will be featured in any manner.

Due to continuing legal issues, St. John is now unable to leave the United States. He was arrested in May for PPP-related wire fraud and, while he has since been freed on bail, he is still awaiting trial, excluding him from consideration. Meanwhile, Johnson has constantly denied any participation with the Special, and Frank has previously announced his retirement from his role as the team’s famed sixth ranger, so those two are also out.

Hasbro’s Surprises For The 30th Year Mighty Morphin’ Finale

We’ll stay cautiously hopeful about Hasbro pulling off a few surprises, even if it appears very doubtful that the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will rejoin on the small screen for the time being, but hey, we’ll get the next best thing.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, which is presently in production, will bring back the Dino Fury ensemble for a third season. The upcoming season is expected to conclude the show’s 30-year run, allowing the highly anticipated Netflix relaunch, which will introduce a completely new crew for both television and cinema, to begin with a clean slate.
